Foundation

Our Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Design was established under the Rectorate of Kayseri University with the Law on the Amendment of the Higher Education Law and Some Laws and Decrees, published in the Official Gazette dated May 18, 2018 and numbered 30425. The proposal of the Presidency of Kayseri University to open departments and departments within our university was examined at the Higher Education Executive Board meeting dated 16.01.2019 and in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of the Law No. Along with this, the Department of Computer Engineering was opened.

Program Profile

Computer Engineering Department, with the title of computer engineer gained on a solid foundation and engineering sciences background, can find a qualified job in national or international information institutions or in the academic field, analyze the functioning of an existing system, identify problems and find original and creative solutions, and develop a new system. Those who can design and design projects, make individual and team work that will advance in business life, express themselves verbally and in writing, follow the sources written in foreign languages, are open to innovations and self-confident, and are also sensitive to the problems of our age and fulfill their profession with the responsibility required by this sensitivity. carries out an education plan that aims to train our students in the best way in both respects by combining theory and practice in order to train computer engineers who can act in accordance with ethical principles. The program includes compulsory courses related to both basic engineering sciences and computer engineering. In addition to the compulsory courses in the education plan, there are also optional courses that students can choose according to their own preferences. Thus, the Department of Computer Engineering trains modern engineers who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to serve in all areas of the Computer Engineering profession on a national and international scale, develop themselves by following the developments in their field, are prone to teamwork, are inquisitive, and attach importance to ethical values.

It aims to be a computer engineering department that shapes the world of technology and science by educating leading researchers and innovative graduates at national and international levels in its field.

The computer, which is a symbol of the information and communication age we live in, has become an indispensable part of our lives. The increase in computer use in every field from education to shopping, from production to entertainment increases the need for well-trained experts who can use computer technology consciously. Computer engineers design, develop and implement computer technologies for a wide range of applications for industrial, commercial, military and consumer. Computer engineers can find jobs in many fields from government to private sector, from education to consultancy. In fact, it is difficult to find a company that does not need computer engineering for its products and systems. Today, computer engineers are widely working in new application areas of computers such as digital television and photography, virtual meeting technology, smart highways, control systems, new automobile technologies, smart phones, security systems, telescopes, airplanes and spacecraft. Computer engineers often pull together with other engineers and people from other disciplines. Some of the sectors where computer engineers can work:

Computer Engineering graduates have the opportunity to have an academic career in addition to the above job opportunities. As the computer engineering department, we have the following objectives:

• Teaching the theoretical foundations of computer science as a scientific discipline,
• As an engineering discipline, examining the methods of creating and processing mathematical models of problems,
• As an applied engineering discipline, using and teaching modern software/hardware tools and methods developed for problem solving.
